INITIATIVES

Ananya is a learning center that works with children who have dropped out of mainstream schooling (primarily due to learning disabilities or behavioral disabilities). It was started in March 1998, by a group of individuals concerned about the dearth of schools that provide relevant and meaningful education for the disadvantaged children in and around Bangalore city. Most children, who drop out of school, do so because the schools do not cater to their special needs. 

The amount we raise will help the children with their education. Children in the age group of 8-17 years need resource materials, exposure trips, vocational training, books, and more for their growth and learning. Running, Football, Karate, Kabbadi and many more physical activities are also an integral part of their curriculum and education.

The Mahavir Nivasi Matimand Vidyalay was established by Amrut Bharati Shikshan Sanstha in 2003. This is a residential school for children with special needs such as delayed development, autism, Downs syndrome, and other challenges. At present, there are 45 children residing within the campus and we provide them with free meals, education, medical facilities, and hostel facilities.

The amount we raise will help the children with special needs. Children need resource materials, therapy, vocational training, and more for their growth and learning. Games and other physical activities are also an integral part of their curriculum and education. We look forward to help them with running

A short write-up on Mahavir Nivasi Matimand Vidyalay 

Peace through Education and Development is the focus of Sunbird’s activities. In a region troubled by mistrust and violence, Sunbird is an organization working in the remotest areas with the most underserved. One of the initiatives supported by Sunbird Trust is Dew Drop Academy in Nongshken village. It emerged as a response to the challenges faced by rural tribal children. Dew Drop Academy serves students from nine villages: Nongshken, Mawdang, Korblang, Tangmang, Wah-Ummlein, Tynriang, Maitlyngnai, Umnuih Tmar, Mawbeh, and Hat-Thymmai in the East Khasi Hills area.

The amount we raise will help with the education of over 200 children from Meghalaya. The children need books, uniforms, stationery, resource materials, vocational training, transportation to reach the school, and more for their growth and education. They are also involved in many sports and we look forward to help them with running.
